It's Time To Start Thinking About Retirement Ideas

The first wave of Boomers started turning 60 last year. Starting in 2008, tens of millions of Baby Boomers will start to retire. As everyone knows, this is the largest generation in history and they like to do things their own way. Their retirement won't be the same as previous generations, so retirement party ideas won't be either! When you're planning a retirement party, keep in mind this generation sees retirement as a new adventure.

According to a recent survey by the AARP, virtually all want to make a major change in their lives.

87% want to take better care of their health
72% want to spend more time on hobbies and interests
47% want to volunteer more

Of course everyone is different, but these statistics provide some interesting possibilities for retirement party ideas. Consider the guest of honor and what he or she plans to do after retirement. Chances are it may fall into one of the categories above. Find out the details, and use that to start coming up with party ideas and themes.
